Three candidates from Montserrat have been awarded Chevening scholarships to study in the United Kingdom this coming academic year.
Carmencita Duberry, Donique Layne and Lester Ryan were all successful in their applications to the UK government’s international scholarship programme.
The Chevening scholarship, which the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations fund, allows awardees to study for one year on a fully funded master’s degree course.
Duberry will leverage her experience in the Montserrat agriculture sector to pursue her MSc in Food Safety, Hygiene and Management at the University of Birmingham.
Layne will draw on her Ministry of Health experience to specialise in her MSc in Developmental Psychology at Lancaster University.
And Ryan will use his extensive experience in mental health work to pursue his MSc in Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health at Nottingham Trent University.
