The United Kingdom has announced the name of Montserrat’s new governor, who will take over from Sarah Tucker in April.
A press release from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on 14 January said seasoned diplomat Harriet Cross has been appointed to the role.
Her distinguished career includes serving as high commissioner, consul general, deputy ambassador, and more, in various international postings.
The current governor will be transferring to another position within the diplomatic service following the completion of her three year tenure.
In a statement from the Government of Montserrat, Tucker congratulated Cross on her appointment and wished her all the best for her new role.
It added that she remains fully committed to working with and supporting the government to deliver for the people of Montserrat over the busy coming months.
