Alliougana Literature Festival 2024: A celebration of the written word

The 2024 Alliougana Literature Festival begins today, marking the start of a vibrant programme of workshops, discussions, and celebrations of the written word.

Residents and friends of Montserrat from around the world are invited to enjoy the events, either in person or online.

Kicking off the festival is Dr Sheron Burns who will be giving a public lecture on the life of Alphonsus ‘Arrow’ Cassell from 6.30pm this evening, Wednesday, 13 November.

On 14 November, Montserrat’s primary schools will be taking part in a book parade from Carr’s Bay Beach to Little Bay Beach starting at 9.30am.

Saturday, 16 November, begins with the ‘Extempo Workshop in Four Parts’ which can be viewed online from 10am here: https://uwi.zoom.us/j/96101204969

The Montserrat Volcano Observatory prize giving ceremony will be held Montserrat Cultural Centre from 1pm, followed by the Mermaid Knitting Workshop at 3pm and the ‘Politicalypso’ book launch at 5pm.

On the final day of the festival on Sunday, attendees can enjoy the ‘Self-publishing on Amazon KDP’ at Montserrat Cultural Centre from 3pm.
