Passengers who have tickets for cancelled outbound Winair flights will be able to travel from Montserrat to Antigua on a chartered ferry, the government has said.
The airline was unable to operate on Monday and Tuesday, 17 and 18 of March, due to weather regulations, a press release from the Access Division said on the evening of 18 March.
A government spokesperson told Montserrat Focus that those who missed flights on 17 March have left the island through other arrangements such as extra flights on other airlines.
However, to enable movement for the other passengers, the Access Division will be running a charter service on the Barbuda Express catamaran.
It asked those scheduled to leave on 18 and 19 March or who do not have a confirmed ticket to be at the ferry terminal in Little Bay at 6am on 19 March.
This is to enable registration and arrangement of transportation.
“The Access Division apologises for the inconveniences caused by this unforeseen disruption to the services,” the press release said.
“We continue to work diligently to remedy to the situation.”
For further updates the public is asked to listen to ZJB Radio or follow the Government Information Unit Montserrat on Facebook.
