There are currently 11 vacancies listed on the government’s online jobs portal including deputy commissioner of police and primary school headteacher.
Salaries for the various positions range from EC$26,208 to EC$77,004 and there are only five days remaining to apply for six of those roles.
The highest salaried job is that of director of community, youth and sports services within the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, and includes an allowance of EC$13,920.
The winning candidate will promote the ongoing improvement of the wellbeing of communities and young people within Montserrat, according to the vacancy document.
They will make sure the department delivers on its strategic objectives through proper administration, data management, accounting, budget management and human resources support systems.
Applicants must have a first class degree, at least five years’ senior managerial experience, understanding of the civil service environment and a clean police record.
Further opportunities
Another vacant leadership role is that of deputy commissioner of police within the Royal Montserrat Police Service, however the website does not list the salary for this job.
Applicants must be a superintendent or equivalent international rank so they are able to display competency at an executive level.
The Montserrat Police Act requires police officers to retire at 55, therefore candidates must be 53 or younger upon date of appointment, the vacancy document says.

A headteacher position is up for grabs at an unnamed government primary school with a wage of EC$68,856 to EC$72,192 and EC$2,800 in allowances.
Other jobs include five teaching roles – electronic technology teacher, ICT teacher, PE teacher, French teacher and English teacher – with a wage for each of EC$62,292 to EC$68,856.
The government is also looking for a prison officer, a senior crop protection technician, and a senior policy analyst.
On 11 April, leader of the United Alliance party, Reuben T Meade, said on the radio that senior public sector roles should be advertised to Montserratians only and not foreign workers.
