Gunners FC were the winners of this year’s Father’s Day football tournament held at Little Bay playing field on 15 June, walking away with a prize of EC$1,500.
VIP Media and the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports hosted the event, which, as well as football, included music, face painting, a bouncy castle, popcorn, a raffle, and food.
There were lots of prizes during the day with second place in the tournament going to Salem City and third place awarded to The Big Side.
Special recognition awards went to ‘Father of the Match’ Micah Hilton, Marcus Walters for ‘Fair Play’, Orlando Donaldson for ‘Most Valuable Player’ and Denoy Campbell as ‘Best Defender’.
Vashirn Roache recieved ‘Man of Third Place Match’, while the ‘Man of Match’ award went to Wayne Walker and the ‘Most Goals’ award to Miguel McPherson.
In a Facebook post, VIP Media wrote: “Grateful for our incredible team, volunteers, Montserrat Interact Club and everyone else that assist on the event day.
“You made the Father’s Day football tournament a huge success! Your hard work and dedication brought joy to so many families.”
