Four members of the Lands and Survey Department in Montserrat are spending a week on the island of Nevis as part of a skills exchange programme.
The aim is to strengthen professional ties with their Nevis counterparts, and allow staff from both departments to enhance their knowledge.
“By working closely together, the teams can develop a stronger relationship and lay the foundation for future cooperation,” a post on the lands ministry’s Facebook page said.
The visit will expose the Montserrat team to a different environment and set of challenges so they can broaden their expertise and boost their professional growth.
The exchange of knowledge and best practice is another key aspect of this initiative, the 20 February post said.
Both teams will have the opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and approaches, leading to mutual improvement and advancement.
“Participation in initiatives of this nature allows the department to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field and continuously improve its operations,” the post added.
“Overall, the attachment in Nevis is a valuable opportunity for the Lands and Survey Department in Montserrat to collaborate, learn, and strengthen its capabilities.”
The Lands and Survey Department falls under the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Housing and the Environment.
It is the national mapping agency and also functions as the principal department for the land information management in Montserrat.
