A man has been charged with attempted murder and perverting the course of public justice after a woman was stabbed in Montserrat last week.
The Royal Montserrat Police Force have not yet named the accused person in this case.
However, a police spokesperson in a Facebook statement said he appeared before Chief Magistrate Vashti Chatoor on 1 November, where he was remanded to His Majesty’s Prison until 8 November.
The arrest was made after a woman was stabbed on the evening of 28 October. Details of the victim’s identity have not been released.
The police statement said: “We are committed to keeping our community informed and safe.
“Your safety and well-being remain our top priority. Stay vigilant and let’s work together for a safer Montserrat.”
Commissioner of Police Mark Payne told Montserrat Focus it is not the current practice of police service to release the identity of the accused.
