Miss Montserrat Mauricia Barzey has arrived in Dominica and joined her fellow contestants as they prepare for the upcoming Miss OECS 2025 pageant.
This week, the group of five hopefuls have attended a cocktail event, taken part in promotional activities, and spent time with pupils at local schools.
In addition to Montserrat, the contestants are representing Dominica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Lucia, and Antigua and Barbuda.
The Miss OECS 2025 pageant takes place at 8pm on Friday, 31 January, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Dominica.
During the media launch on Monday, 27 January, 19-year-old Barzey introduced herself and said it is an honour to be representing her home.
She told gathered media that she is “extremely grateful” to be taking part in the pageant and said it will be a “night to remember”.
Barzey spoke fondly of her fellow five contestants and said attendees will witness “unity and sisterhood like no other”.
“I must say that my future pageant sisters have made the beginning of this week, one to remember. I do find you all lovely, and I am very grateful for that,” she said.
She finished by expressing her love for Dominica which she said reminds her of home, adding: “I know that as the week goes by, I will just keep on loving it more and more.”

The Miss OECS 2025 pageant an annual regional beauty and talent competition that showcases the cultural diversity and talent of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
Participants from the member states compete in various segments, including talent, evening wear, swimwear, and an interview round, to demonstrate their poise, creativity and intelligence.
The pageant promotes regional unity and cultural heritage, serving as a platform for contestants to share their island’s traditions and values with a wider audience.
Mauricia Barzey was crowned Miss Montserrat 2024 on 28 December, at Carnival City in Little Bay in an event that celebrated the beauty, talent and spirit of Montserrat.
Carisa Brudy secured first runner-up and Danté Daniel took the second runner-up prize.
