Montserrat celebrates the arrival of the first newborn of 2025

Montserrat has welcomed its first arrival of 2025 – a healthy baby boy born on 13 January to proud mother Marie-Claude Artist-Pierrelus.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services in a Facebook statement expressed its joy at the birth and extended warm wishes to the family.

“We are delighted to welcome this beautiful addition to our Montserrat community and wish the family abundant happiness, good health and cherished moments in the days ahead,” the ministry wrote.

“As always, the ministry remains committed to ensuring the well-being of mothers, babies, and families across Montserrat.”

The ministry went on to thank Alarice Fenton and friends who presented a gift of $50 to the family to “kick-start his savings”.

Throughout 2024, Fenton gave $50 to each baby born at the Glendon Hospital in honour of her 50th birthday.

“What a wonderful way to celebrate! Her generosity was greatly appreciated by us and parents alike,” the ministry said.
