The Montserrat St Patrick’s Festival is taking place this year from 2 to 18 March, according to the latest schedule of events from Montserrat Arts Council.
The two-week-long celebration of the island’s African and Irish heritage will finish the day after St Patrick’s Day with jouvert, a parade, heritage feast and market.
The events are:
Saturday, 2 March – Miss Montserrat red carpet
Sunday, 3 March – TransLink and Uncle Bas present 3 Cylinder Band
Friday, 8 March – CalaPlay presents Women in 4 Movements, and Immortal Promotions presents Blue Jeans
Saturday, 9 March – Lighting of the symbolic flame, CalaPlay presents the Women in 4 Movements play, and Desert Storm Promotions presents the Sneakers and Jersey party
Sunday, 10 March – Chess Entertainment presents Boozey Brunch featuring Tian Winter from Antigua and local DJs
Monday, 11 March – National Museum launches new exhibit ‘First People’, seven day wellness retreat, St Patrick’s lecture series featuring Peter White, Matrixx Dance Company presents Enchanted Rhythms in a Trance, and M2K Entertainment presents the Neon Wear fete
Tuesday, 12 March – National Honours and Awards Ceremony, DHP presents 3×3 basketball tournament, and Imperial Entertainment presents Remedy
Wednesday, 13 March – Montserrat Idol 2024 finale, and Chuch Gut Entertainment presents Sound Clash
Thursday, 14 March – Art exhibition, Montserrat National Trust hosts a flower show and tea party, Emerald Community Singers in concert, and Hypnotik Montserrat presents Leprechaun Revenge
Friday, 15 March – Montserrat Secondary School hosts an art exhibition, unveiling of the third National Hero – Alphonsus ‘Arrow’ Cassell, and Immortal Promotions presents All White Affair
Saturday, 16 March – Scriber’s hike, National Heroes Day, Treasure Spot’s all day lyme, St Patrick’s Day church dinner, It’s Fashion by Molly, and international event Stratify
Sunday, 17 March – St Patrick’s Day church service, Scriber’s ferry island tour, MMSA presents Cash Days with drag racing, Emerald Brunch 2024, Small Beginnings in concert, Helping Hands for Glendon concert, and Emerald City Fest
Monday, 18 March – 5am Jouvert Jam, St Patrick’s Day parade, heritage feast, market day, the Junior Calypso Competition, and the conclusion
