New government extends $200 flight subsidy to end of November

Passengers travelling between Montserrat and Antigua can enjoy a discount of EC$200 per flight throughout November, with a saving of $400 for return trips.

This subsidy extension was announced in a press release from the new government on 1 November, following a successful initiative that has been running from June to October.

The two airlines operating the route, Fly Montserrat and SVG Air, will apply the reduced fares for travellers and subsequently claim the rebate from the Access Division.

The subsidy was originally introduced shortly after the Access Division announced on 30 April that the ferry service between Antigua and Montserrat had concluded.

In the recent press release, the government expressed gratitude for the public’s “patience and understanding” as it works to provide reliable access to and from Montserrat.

Customers who already had confirmed bookings for November before the implementation of the extension will need to send a emailed refund request to the Access Division.

The request should include the ticket receipt, itinerary, photo identification and preferred payment method.
