Police recovered a “vessel in distress” and the sole person on board after it lost steering control two miles off Marguerita Bay.
The marine unit of the Royal Montserrat Police Service received an alert to the situation at about 7.35pm on 2 May.
A team sailed to the location where they found a 12 metre boat named Oscar II.
“Rough seas proved challenging but despite this, both vessel and passenger were safely transported into Little Bay,” a Facebook post from police on 5 May said.
In the post, acting police chief Alexander Enriles from the Royal Gibraltar Police thanked the officers for their bravery and dedication to keeping people safe.
