Residents of Olveston and Beacettes have until the end of Thursday, 7 March, to comment on a planning proposal for a 13-bedroom, 15-bathroom building.
The structure, if approved, will be built on three levels on a steep slope with an outdoor pool on the upper level. The ground floor is 100 foot by 54 foot.
A public notice, published on the government’s publications portal on 22 February, reminds residents, nearby government agencies and statutory bodies of their deadline to comment.
It names the planning applicant for the “residential dwelling” as Orland Morton, and the property is dubbed ‘Gary Morton House’ in the architectural plans.
The plans, which are available to view online, include drawings of the side, floor, ground floor, sub floor, elevations, sections, foundation and framing.
They show that the development would be located off an ‘existing main road’, but the road is not named.
However, chief physical planner Clement Meade told Montserrat Focus that the property is located in Olveston off Lime Kiln Beach Road.
The Physical Planning Act says before the Planning and Development Authority decides whether to grant planning permission, it must notify anyone who may be affected.
The notice must contain enough information so people can see how they may be affected. They then have 14 days to respond.
The plans can be viewed here or at the Physical Planning Unit in Brades.
Comments can be provided by phone at 491-6795 or by email to ppu@gov.ms
