A total of 2,941 people travelled to Montserrat by ferry and plane between 1 and 18 March, during this year’s St Patrick’s Festival, according to newly released data.
In a press release on 20 March, the government’s Access Division said arrivals by air on Fly Montserrat, SVG Air, and Calvin Air, Blue Harbour helicopters totalled 778.
The total number of passengers who travelled on the regular ferries was 1,726, while 437 arrived on Jeans for Freedom via Guadeloupe on 16 March.
The Access Division thanked the public for their continued support “in our vision for better access facilitation in and out of Montserrat”.
It also thanked all of the transport operators, and port and airport staff for the part they played in welcoming people to the island.
On Easter weekend – 28 March to 1 April – round-trip ferries from Antigua and Nevis are EC$425, the Access Division added.
