Isles Bay Beach Bar named sixth best beach bar in Caribbean

Isles Bay Beach Bar has earned the prestigious title of the sixth-best beach bar in the Caribbean, solidifying its reputation as a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.

It is the fourth year that the popular bar has been recognised in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice awards, which highlight the region’s top spots for seaside dining, drinks, and vibrant atmospheres.

In 2022, USA Today readers voted the bar into the sixth position, and in 2023 it reached the eighth spot, and in 2024 it was back up to number seven.

In a Facebook post the bar wrote: “This is a fantastic achievement when you consider all the much larger islands and countries we were up against, some having more visitors in a day than we have in a year.”

Regulars and fans of the beloved bar near Garibaldi Hill had the chance to cast their votes daily over the course of a month.

The bar thanked everyone that voted and regularly supports the bar and added: “Montserrat is a very special place and we are proud to be part of the community.”

An article on the USA Today website revealing the rankings, published on 8 January, said: “Sit on the veranda decorated with fairy lights and enjoy the cool Montserrat winds at this beach hangout.

“Isles Bay Beach Bar serves grilled seafood, burgers, chicken, salads, and pizza all day, though the vibe shifts from casual to more upscale once the sun sets. Sip a cocktail or sample from the bar’s rum selection.”

This year, Isles Bay Beach Bar was up against beach bars in Jamaica, Barbados, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Anguilla, Grenada, the British Virgin Islands, Curacao, and other Caribbean hotspots.

The top five spots went to bars in the British Virgin Islands and Anguilla, with Soggy Dollar Bar in Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands named best in the Caribbean.

In a Facebook post, the Montserrat Tourism Authority congratulated Isles Bay Beach Bar on securing the sixth position, saying the recognition “highlights Montserrat’s unique charm and hospitality”.
