Concacaf Nations League: Montserrat loses 2-0 to St Vincent

Montserrat suffered a 2-0 defeat to St Vincent and the Grenadines in the team’s second Concacaf Nations League match this weekend.

The group stage game, held at the Stadion Antonio Trenidat in Bonaire on Sunday, 8 September, marked another disappointing defeat in the regional competition.

St Vincent and the Grenadines took an early lead when Cornelius Stewart crossed a shot inside the box in the 15th minute.

Montserrat’s made a valiant effort to equalise, with several shots on goal and a saved penalty.

However, the opposing team doubled their advantage when Diel Spring scored in the 87th minute.

The loss leaves Montserrat at the bottom of the group with zero points and much to address as they continue their league campaign.

The team lost 4-1 to El Salvador in the opening match of the competition at Stadion Antonio Trenidat in Bonaire on 5 September.
